There’s a great little public amusement park and pavilion/dance hall in Green Bay called Bay Beach–it’s been around since, I dunno, the early 20th century at least. People came out here to beat the heat starting in about 1915 or so, big bands came through in the 40s, and generations of kids from northeastern Wisconsin have fond recollections of it. Even now, the kiddie rides are only a quarter!
We took Henry there last weekend–he has just reached the minimum age for Bay Beach enjoyment. Check him out on all the rides!
The boats, his favorite ride!
Difficult to tell from these photos, but here he is riding the mini-train with us. He loved this as well, although he looks less enthusiastic in these pics.
And here’s a ride that’s a. . . bug?
And finally, a little plane, with light artillery.
We’ll definitely make a return trip to Bay Beach!
